Latin American Startup Champions Gear Up for Moscow Gathering

Of the nearly 4,000 delegates from 153 nations signed up for the Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) next week in Moscow, a large number are traveling from Latin America. The region’s startup ecosystems are now firmly part of the global entrepreneurship grid and with such strong delegations expected from cities like Medellín, Santiago and Buenos Aires, it is clear they don’t want there to be any doubt around the world about it.

This Week in Entrepreneurship Policy

Last week, President Obama's FY 2015 budget was a key focal point of congressional hearings on Capitol Hill. This week, the focus continues as Congressman Paul Ryan and the House Budget Committee take a look at the President's FY 2015 Revenue and Economic Policy Proposals and the Joint Economic Committee reviews The Economic Report of the President 2014. In non-budget related hearings, the House Judiciary Commitee explores alternative solutions to an internet sales tax and the House Small Business Committee explores the rise of 3D printing and the opportunities it presents for entrepreneurs. Other topics covered by hearings this week include: an upswing in small business manufacturing, innovative ideas to expand the middle class, modernizing the Freedom of Information Act and more.
