Entrepreneurial pulse

There are a couple of congressional hearings this week focused on the central nervous system of countless startups and corporations alike -- the internet. The House Energy & Commerce Committee sets its sights on a lofty goal with a hearing entitled "Ensuring the Security, Stability, Resilience and Freedom of the Global Internet." Meanwhile, the House Judiciary Committee asks if the Commerce Department is the best overseer of ICANN, a nonprofit that manages the global domain system. Other topics covered include: a look at the current employment situation from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the benefits and risks of bitcoin, the SBA budget, intellectual property, empowering women as a strategy for economic growth, protecting personal data and more.
