Start Smart Seminar How to start a business
Entrepreneurship is frequently misunderstood. When people think about the word entrepreneur they often think about high-flying business people who risk it all to make big money. With this definition in mind, it’s no wonder that people get turned off entrepreneurship as a way to live, work and achieve. Other people think entrepreneurship is all about having the freedom to do what you want to do, when you want to do it. They forget that freedom comes with responsibilities.
Still other people understand the value of entrepreneurs in building a sustainable economy, and they want to support them with training and other resources. But they lack the freedom and organizational fluidity to meet individual entrepreneurs where they are.
Entrepreneurship As A Way Of Life
An entrepreneur is an individual who is willing to launch a new venture and accept full responsibility for the outcome. That venture may be a new job, a new school, a new program, a new future, or yes, even a new business.
However you define “new venture” the key is that you’re willing to take a step in a new direction, and you’re prepared to be responsible for getting there. In this way, entrepreneurship becomes a way to live, work and achieve.
That's Where We Come In!
CEED works with individuals to harness the power of entrepreneurial thinking, and learn the skills of the entrepreneur, in order to make lasting change in their lives, families and communities. We introduce people to entrepreneurship as a way of life, and we empower them with the structure and resources they need to take responsibility for their journey.
Over the years, we’ve worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs of all ages and stages, as well as at-risk youth, high school students and new Canadians, and our proven track record of success is why our funders trust us to deliver programming that helps build communities and the economy of Nova Scotia.
By helping people see entrepreneurship as a way of life, and providing them with the structure and resources they need to make lasting change, we are building stronger, more vibrant communities, creating jobs, building self-esteem, and creating a stronger economy in Nova Scotia.
