President Obama ran on supporting and strengthening the union movement - this isn't a big surprise. The top 1% of this country own 80% of the wealth - there is lots of room for workers joining together to get above poverty level wages.

Looks like there was a pretty good jobs bill that had bi-partisan support. Finally! Unfortunately, Sen. Harry Reid killed the bill as an effort to solidify his progressive backing. He's in real trouble in the upcoming election and he needs all the support from his base he can muster. Too bad politics got in the way of good policy.
