Entrepreneurship News Roundup: Week of 4/30/2010

Posted by: Thom Ruhe on April 30, 2010 Source: e360 Blog

The 2010 Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship wrapped up with many exciting takeaways such as the growth of youth entrepreneurship, the development of the US relationship with global entrepreneurs and empowering women entrepreneurs to continue to launch outstanding startups.

Other innovative ideas this week included how entrepreneurs can find success through small business niche lenders that cater to specialized industries such as veterinarians, life science and high-growth technology to name a few.

On a final note we learned that many small businesses are not taking advantage of affordable small business online tools to help build their startups. In a survey conducted by Citibank, it is noted that nearly 40% of small businesses do not have a website and 62% don’t send marketing e-mails to promote their business.

To have your own website is not a big expense at all. Neither is sending out emails - that's free! For a small business not to do these things is inexcusable!
