Entrepreneurship News Roundup: Week of 5/7/2010

This week we learned how Dave Waldman, CEO and Entrepreneurial Founder of Bccthis took a chance and ventured out with his business partner to create their own startup. We also took a look at the top ten ingredients needed to create a great business plan including:

  • Defining the problem
  • Offering solutions to the problem
  • Explaining your business model
  • Outlining your marketing strategy

And lastly, we focused on the five small business tips on running a successful sales office such as making your sales managers cold calling experts, weeding out dead-end leads and focusing on relationship building.

The article on 5 small business tips was definitely a good read for newer businesses, especially the rule of 'seven touches'. Constant communication on sales leads is crucial, and you want to always make sure to call back any potential clients whenever you miss their calls to keep the lead fresh.
