Hack For Change: Miami is helping build a community of civic innovation in South Florida. A wide variety of individuals and organizations have come together to foster of a culture of open government, civic engagement, sustainability and technology for good.
This event is an experiment in combining the standard hackathon format with Lean-style customer development, with the goal being finding products worth building, rather than simply building products. We will be bringing in legal professionals throughout the 2-day event, as an opportunity to explore their painpoints and collaboratively design solutions for problems they encounter in their day-to-day operations.
Demo night consists of 5 minute pitches followed by 5 minute QA. Judges will be present, and the winning team will get some awesome prizes (yet to be determined).
The goal of the Micro Venture Capital Club is to link entrepreneurs with great ideas with investors. The event is a "Shark Tank" type meeting where the entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to potential investors.
