Foursquare Hack Day Philippines 2012 (Hashtag: #4SQHackPH) is an all-day hackathon featuring the Foursquare API. This is presented by the SMART Developer Network and WebGeek Philippines in partnership with Foursquare.
We’re flying in Sajid Mehmood of Foursquare’s platform engineering team from Foursquare HQ in NYC to give Pinoy developers the ins and outs of the Foursquare API for Connected Apps. Foursquare’s APIs enable developers to build apps that interact with the Foursquare platform for location check-ins, venue information
Developers use the API to create new ways to check-in to Foursquare or visualize the data generated by the Foursquare user community. Some well known apps using Foursquare APIs include: Foodspotting, Path Instagram The Weather Channel and more.

Here’s what you need to do: Register for the event. Develop an app using the Foursquare API within nine hours. Present the application to our judges to see who wins the competition.
Apps will need to follow a theme to qualify for the competition. What’s the theme? Well, we won’t reveal this until the event itself.
