Global Day of CodeRetreat 2012

12/22/2012 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

We are pleased to announce we are participating for the first time in Vietnam in the Global Day of Code Retreat. This year we are expecting around 200 cities and 3000+ developers. This is an amazing opportunity to, besides learn and share ideas, be part of the history of software development. This event will be hosted simultaneously in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday December 8, 2012. In Hanoi, our friends at Hanoi Scrum will organize the event. If you happen to be in Hanoi, please contact Hanoi Scrum for further details.

What is a code retreat?

Coderetreat is a day-long, intensive practice event, focusing on the fundamentals of software development and design. By providing developers the opportunity to take part in focused practice, away from the pressures of ‘getting things done’, the code retreat format has proven itself to be a highly effective means of skill improvement. Practicing the basic principles of modular and object-oriented design, developers can improve their ability to write code that minimizes the cost of change over time.

How does it work?

The code retreat centers on a series of pair programming sessions, you change pairs between sessions, and share learning from previous sessions.
