GES 2011 played host to the first ever Global Entrepreneurship Conference in India. It was a platform where promotion of entrepreneurship could be discussed with a global perspective. The conference served as a conclave for discussion of opportunities and programs aimed towards promoting entrepreneurship in various universities in the world. The discussion helped refine each other’s ecosystem by learning from each other’s experiences. There were participations from USA, UK, Finland, Japan, Singapore and China.
GES 2011 also had Start-up-Camp – an invaluable opportunity for promising start-ups of the country to raise seed capital and hire college students as a full time employee or as an intern. It was a great opportunity for the students as start-ups with immersion experiences from almost all fields ranging from software computing to marketing were present. It was a host to about 15 start-ups like IntelliAnts, Serenus Networks, KCG, Rang De, Buzz Network etc. Also there was a Venture Capitalists panel discussion through which these start-ups had an opportunity for getting funding. A networking lunch was organised to facilitate the interaction between all of them.
