Texas Venture Labs Investment Competition Registration
The Jon Brumley Texas Venture Labs is pleased to invite youto the 29th annual Texas Venture Labs Investment Competition (TVLIC) at the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center on February 7 and February 8.
Twenty-five teams of student entrepreneurs, from six different graduate programs, will pitch their "Investor-Ready" ideas to local entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts, as they compete for prizes including:
$10,000 in cash
Membership in the Austin Technology Incubator
Acceptance to the Texas Venture Labs Accelerator
Consulting time with both the Director and Assistant Director of TVL
A berth in the UT Horizon Fund CompetitionA berth in the Global Venture Labs Investment Competition
The first round--consisting of the semi-finals--will be held on Thursday, February 7, in rooms 101-106, beginning at 5:30 pm. There will be five tracks including: Consumer, Life Sciences, Energy, and two Technology tracks. We expect 25 companies to present; each presentation will run for 30 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of private feedback.
The second round--consisting of the finals will be held on Friday, February 8, in the Amphitheater on the M2 level, beginning at 6:30 pm. The top five companies from the semi-finals will present, with each presentation lasting 30 minutes. Following the competition, the winner will be announced at a reception to be held at Gabriel's Cafe at 9:45 pm.
TVL Scholarship Competition Registration
Additionally, we will be holding the first annual TVL Scholarship Competition on Saturday, February 9, with a total of twelve prospective MBA students competing for up to four scholarship packages worth $175,000 each. The competition will consist of a morning and afternoon round.
The morning round will be held at the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center in rooms 202 and 203, at 9:00 am. Each of the twelve applicants will be randomly assigned to one of the two rooms. Presentations will last for 20 minutes.
The top two applicants from each room will advance to the afternoon round to be held in room 203 at 1:00 pm. The presentation format will be the same as for the morning round. Winners will be announced at a reception to be held at Gabriel's Cafe following the competition.
