Free Software Melbourne
Thur 21 Feb 2013, VPAC Head Office, 6pm
This is a follow-up to our very successful games night from September 2012. We'll be playing a wide range of free software games including some casual games and some multiplayer action games. No gaming experience is required. We're happy to help you get started. Bring $10 for pizza.
You don't need a laptop, but please bring one if you have one. There will be a number of desktop computers available. Internet access is available in case you need to download and install games.
The list of games and versions will be posted on the mailing list in case you'd like to get set up beforehand.
Please add your suggestions for future topics.

21 Mar: Discussion group
We're a group who meet monthly to discuss free software and related issues. Our aims are to:
Connect people interested in free software issues
Share knowledge and experience, eg. understanding free software licensing
Support and encourage free software advocacy
Work together on solving issues local to Australia, eg. that software by the Australian Tax Office is proprietary
We're part of LibrePlanet, a network of free software groups all around the world. We share the values of the Free Software Foundation on the GNU Project. We're also part of the fledgling Australian Free Software Association.
We're non-technical and fill a niche that complements more technical GNU/Linux user groups like the Linux Users of Victoria or the Melbourne Linux Users Group.
Join our mailing lists
Join our announcement list (archives) to hear about upcoming meetings and events. Join our discussion list (archives) to hear from and talk to other members of the free software community.
Attend our monthly discussion group
Each month (third Thursday), we meet to discuss one or more free software issues. It is a relaxed "sit around and chat" type event. No prior knowledge is expected.
