After a cracking first meetup for the year, lets follow up with an equally great event for Feb. We are back!
This remains a free event, with free beer and free pizza provided.
Sponsor:
BlueChilli is sponsoring the beer this time around, so check them out at http://www.bluechilli.com/
BlueChilli is a technology and software development company that creates online web applications and invests the software development in online start-ups – an investment strategy they call Venture Technology.
The company was founded by Sydney based weapons engineer Sebastien Eckersley-Maslin who left a ten year career in the Navy to pursue his passion in working with start-ups. Eckersley-Maslin leads an agile team of software engineers, web developers, graphic designers and business gurus who are experienced in the rapid delivery and marketing of online businesses.
Topic:
How to raise investment for your startup: The why, the how, the when and the who
Date and time:
Tuesday 26th Feb at 6pm
Location:
Inspire9
Format:
Come and learn from an experienced panel, including the opportunity for plenty of open Q&A. We have lined up a panel of:
A specialist grants expert who can take you through any government program available
An experienced angel investor
A Melbourne based Venture Capitalist, who has previously invested in Melbourne startups
A founder who has previously raised investment money for their company
What else?
This series of events are meant to help build the Melbourne startup ecosystem by providing high quality, educational content. Another way we can help build the ecosystem is to help startup founers get exposure for their companies and products. So lets do that!
For this event, we are offering up to 6 spots for founders to present their product/business to over 200 attendees. This is not a pitch event in front of the entire crowd. Instead, each startup will be positioned in the room during the pizza/beer at the start of the event. As people mingle aout the room, if they come past your table with your demo setup, you can show your product off and maybe land a customer or two.
If getting your demo in front of 200-300 like minded entreprenuers is of interest to you, then please apply to take one of these slots. All you will need is a laptop hooked up to a monitor, and we can probably supply the monitor.
Suitable startups would:
Be Melbourne based
Have at least 1 founder able to demo the product on the night
Have a product to demo (it's okay if it is not totally finished, but we need more than a powerpoint)
To grab a spot, email Cameron Rambert on [masked]
Cheers,
The Melbourne Lean Startup Organizing Committee
