CEO Vertex software Pvt.Ltd. Ajit Patil is one of the founder members of Vertex Software. He completed his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering meritoriously, from the Government College of Engineering Pune. After his graduation, he pursued his Masters in Technology from IIT Kharagpur and later worked for software companies in India and the United Kingdom (UK). Leading Vertex as the CEO, Ajit has worked to develop an atmosphere of trust, transparency and openness with employees, customers and investors. His obsession for un-compromised customer satisfaction and quality services has set high benchmarks for Vertex to achieve.
Ajit co-founded Vertex Software in year 1996. The organization today is around 650 employees’ with operations in Tokyo, Toronto, Seattle and Pune.
Vertex has been recently acquired by NTTDATA which is amongst Japan’s largest software services firm.
Though Japan is a very large IT market, very few Indian IT companies have been focusing on it. In that sense, Vertex is a bit unique with substantial focus on Japan.
Vertex has groomed an operations which could address the language and cultural hurdles in Japan and also delivery to the perfecting quality requirements of Japanese customers. Outside Japan, Vertex has been focusing on speciality services and has built relationship with some Tier 1 financial institutions and leading technology organizations.
Over the years Vertex developed close relationship with marquee partner and customers in Japan. In the year 2002, Japanese conglomerate Mitsui and Co. Ltd. (a 60 Billion USD organization) took a strategic equity stake (around 15%) in Vertex. In the year 2008, NTTDATA took a majority stake of around 60% and recently (2012) has acquired the balance stakes to make Vertex its wholly owned subsidiary. Vertex has now been rechristened as NTTDATA Global Technology Services Pvt. Ltd.
