Leadership Defined Y Women Lead The YWCA Edmonton Speakers Series
The YWCA Edmonton continually works to serve the needs of women in the Edmonton area. It has been doing so for over one hundred years and has been adept at recognizing the evolving needs of our community. Recently the YWCA Edmonton has been garnering support for a Leadership Centre, and I am inviting you to support this initiative. To learn more about the Leadership Center go to:
I urge you to support the Leadership Centre by attending the 2013 speaker series Leadership Defined: Y Women Lead. Launched in 2012, the speaker series will profile female leaders and add to the discourse on women’s leadership. This year will feature a panel of women representing the areas of law, medicine and education. Each will highlight their experience and insights, and discuss the challenges women face in leadership roles. Moderated by Ruth Kelly, president and publisher of Alberta Venture the panel will feature:
Mona Duckett Q.C.(www.flsc.ca/en/council/mona-t-duckett-qc/),
Elsie Elford (www.macewan.ca/wcm/schoolsfaculties/business/OfficeoftheDean/index.htm) and
Dr. Verna Yiu (www.albertahealthservices.ca/7312.asp).
We are fortunate to have these accomplished women with leadership experience on the local, provincial and national levels discuss their leadership experience.
I invite you to join this panel discussion followed by a reception on October 24, 2013 from 7p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Muttart Hall, on MacEwan University’s Alberta College campus (10050 MacDonald Drive).
