Whitney Rockley is an entrepreneurial venture capitalist that is refreshingly real. She co-founded McRock Capital after investing in high growth start ups targeting industrial markets for the past 15 years. She, and her business partner (the ‘Mc’ in McRock), are different from other VCs in that they show a lot of entrepreneurial personality. They post videos that take viewers through their journey of building a venture capital fund. They also host McRock Talks which are aimed to help entrepreneurs understand venture capitalists. She currently serves on the board of the Canadian Venture Capital Association and has had a number of impressive wins over the course of her career. She was one of the key investors behind RuggedCom, which was acquired by Siemens, for almost half a billion dollars and was an investor and board member of the Pressure Pipe Inspection Company, which was sold to Calgary-based Pure Technologies and SpectraSensors, which was sold to Swiss based Endress + Hauser. Whitney is from Alberta and has worked in London, Zurich and San Francisco.
