About the Talk
With the implosion of print advertising market, the media landscape is in constant flux. The old rubric is dead. While media has become increasingly digital for years, old media has yet to fully embrace the power of the regular citizen. Sure, "iReports" are popular, but how about a news outlet that is powered by citizens? That's Jersey Shore Hurricane News. It covers the traditional news, traffic, and weather, but there's much more to it: crowdsourcing on a wide range of topics, promoting worthwhile causes in the community, and simply just connecting and empowering people.
