The House and Senate have adjourned for the week-long recess for their Independence Day Work Period. They will return to Washington for legislative business on July 12.
While the original House and Senate calendars called for recess last week, members of the Senate remained in Washington to work on a funding bill that would avert a government shutdown. With the House & Senate both in Washington this week, several hearings are scheduled that caught our attention, including a review by the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing & Urban Affairs on outstanding proposals to spur job growth through capital formation.
No relevant hearings are scheduled while Congress observes the Thanksgiving recess.
The House is back in session with a full slate of hearings throughout the week. And while there is little going on in the Senate, the Joint Economic Committee will discuss “Driving Innovation and Job Growth through the Life Sciences Industry.”
