RE: Social Entrepreneurship Changing Education Entire Talk Wendy Kopp Teach for America 455: Douglas Thornton said...; I am a career change person from Research Science in Manufacturing into Education, and am now starting a Tutoring Business in the Chicago Western Suburbs...as well as a Professor for DeVry Online. I am literally fascinated by the scope of the problems in education in America (the richest country in the world, that doesn't seem to grasp the fundamental significance of education). It is pretty clear that you are in the focus of a transformation via the long, hard work...instead of the silver bullet. I could use any advice and guidance of what it will take us to alter the culture of Education in America. I have had some experiences online with several folks who were at a distinct disadvantage because they were first to lose their job and also first in line at the online school enrollment, and I am starting to understand that our approach to education is so deeply flawed by the end result we desire instead of our transformation along the journey (witness the state of Advanced Placement).
