Rate of Entrepreneurship, by Gender
According to the Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity, men are substantially more likely to start businesses each month than are women. The entrepreneurial activity rate for men increased slightly from 0.42% in 2007 to 0.43% in 2008. Among women, the business-creation rate also increased, from 0.24% to 0.25%.
