Event Supports National Energy Innovation Network
The Kauffman Foundation, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy's Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy and Arizona State University, will co-host the Southwest Energy Innovation Forum on October 18, 2010. The forum, part of a national effort to drive clean energy innovation and propel economic development and job creation in the United States, will feature leading researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers and innovators who will develop recommendations for the nation's energy future.

New Business Creation Rate
Over the past 14 years, the business creation rate in the United States has fluctuated between 0.27% and 0.31%; however, the exception lies within the past two years. In 2008, the rate rose to 0.32% -- and then hit 0.34% in 2009. Source: Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity
