How to Revive Health Care Innovation
-

The Obama economic recovery plan includes significant funds to help spur innovations, such as electronic health records, in the health care industry. Program managers in Washington would be well-advised to check out a new book, The Innovator’s Prescription: A Disruptive Solution for Health Care, from a team led by Harvard Business School’s Clayton Christensen.
The authors argue that business model innovation will be the real key to making health care affordable. Working at the margins with incremental change is an unlikely path to success.
