Top Colleges in Entrepreneurship Education

Mark Marich

As the debate rages on regarding whether a college education is worthwhile for young aspiring entrepreneurs, U.S. News & World Report has come out with a list of the country's top colleges and universities—including for students more interested in launching a new startup than learning about Social & Political Philosophy 101. And for the 17th straight year, Babson College was named the top school for entrepreneurship education.

Babson prides itself on its Entrepreneurial Thought and Action approach "to balance action, experimentation, and creativity with a deep understanding of business fundamentals and rigorous analysis as the ideal approach to creating economic and social value." <>Following the small Massachusetts school—enrollment is 2,015—are a number of large state schools and academic heavyweights (in order): University of Southern California, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Indiana University-Bloomington, University of Pennsylvania, University of Arizona, University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill, Syracuse University, University of California—Berkeley, University of Texas—Austin.
