If you are interested in creating web application or dynamic websites or you want to make prototypes for your startup, this is the workshop for you.

We are going to create a simple blog application using Ruby on Rails which is a famous web framework that allows us to create web applications quickly and easily.

Ruby on Rails is used by many companies such as Twitter, Shopify, Basecamp, Groupon, Airbnb, Dropbox, etc.

Before the workshop, please install the following software:

1. Install the Rails Installer to your Windows, Mac or Linux computer:

http://railsinstaller.org/

2. Get Sublime 2, a text editor:

http://www.sublimetext.com/2

Presenter:

Chim Kan is an entrepreneur, web developer and member of Hacklab.to, a Toronto-based hacker space. He is an evangelist of Twitter Bootstrap and Ruby on Rails, freelance developer and gives workshops in web development. Before that, he worked for Google as Product Specialist in Adwords, and in many other internet companies. He has an MBA from Ivey.
