On August 10 the local WordPress Meetup community will organize at the Digital October Center the all-time first Russian conference in the set of informal WordCamps that occur yearly in a variety of countries.
Event participants will have the opportunity to chat with their colleagues from both Russia and abroad — developers, content managers, and others — and using the special Job Board find someone to build their project or work related to WordPress. There will also be an opportunity for free consultations with specialists of the CMS.
The agenda is set to include up to ten speeches, to be given in Russian. Among the confirmed presentations:
Development of WordPress (Sergey Biryukov, core developer)
Infrastructure of the WordPress.com Network (Alexander Stankevich, Automattic Inc)
Adaptive Content and WordPress (Anna Ladoshkina, Social Technology Greenhouse)
Unorthodox WordPress Applications (Olga Goryaeva, Spot Digital)
The organizers are currently still working on the set of speeches.
This is a ticketed event. Tickets will go on sale in July at the cost of $20 (650 rubles approx.).
Please note that WordCamp operates on a non-profit basis, and therefore the conference organizers and speakers are volunteers.
WordPress is the most widely used content management system in the word, being used by 40 million internet resources including The New York Times, Forbes, CNN, Sony, TechCrunch, and Mashable.
