California Clean Innovation CACI Conference
The California Clean Innovation conference is a joint venture between UCSD’s Rady School of Management and UCLA’s Anderson School of Management, highlighting new innovation in the clean technology industry. The conference will include leaders from business, non-profit, and academia. Breakfast and lunch will be served, there will be bus tours of various renewable energy research initiatives on campus, and the conference will end with a business fast-pitch competition.
The 7th Annual CACI Conference will be held at the Price Center on May 31, 2013 from 8:30am-4:45pm. Student organizers are currently seeking: panelists, sponsors, and fast-pitch competitors. We welcome you to visit our Contact page for more information!

Special Guest: Mayor Filner, City of San Diego
Mayor Filner will deliver his speech for CACI 2013!
Robert Earl “Bob” Filner is the 35th and current Mayor of San Diego. Filner was previously the U.S. Representative for California’s 51st congressional district, and previously the 50th, serving from 1993 to 2012, and was chairman of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs 2007-2011. He is a member of the Democratic Party.
Keynote: Michael R. Niggli, SDG&E
In 2006, Niggli was named chief operating officer of SDG&E and Southern California Gas Co., another of Sempra Energy’s regulated California utilities. Previously, from 2000 to 2006, Niggli was president of Sempra Generation where he was responsible for the operation and maintenance of merchant power plants and energy infrastructure throughout North America.
Michael will deliver the Opening Speech for CACI 2013! Prior to joining Sempra Energy in 2000, Niggli was chairman and chief executive officer of Nevada Power Company and Sierra Pacific Resources. He contributed to a successful merger of the two companies that doubled their size and strength. He also guided the company through the deregulation process in Nevada and achieved the highest customer satisfaction rating of any electric utility in the western United States (as reported by J.D. Power and Associates).
